This development is primarily due to the remarkable development of Sperlonga. Its sectors – from Eden to Pilastro di Ponente, from the Grande Muraglia to the Mura di Amarcord – have produced a multitude of multi-pitch routes and offer a variety of coastal climbing that is unique in Italy. Gaeta is also benefiting from this growth: although smaller in scale, this historic climbing area has seen both an increase in the number of routes on offer and extensive maintenance and restoration work on its most famous routes.
