The climbing guidebook RocPennavaire describes 2000 climbing routes distributed over 62 areas. The questions on the introductory page "Useful Infomation" seem almost provocative and they provide the appropriate answers, which thus illustrate the diversity and attractiveness of this valley on the Ligurian coast. They are: It's summer and hot, what is the most suitable area? It is winter and cold, what is the most suitable sector for it? It's raining, where can I climb in the dry? It rained a lot the last few days, which areas are the quickest to dry out? There is a strong wind, which are the best areas to shelter from it? Or finally: We are a "NO BIG" group, which are the designated easy climbing areas?
According to this, you can probably go to Val Pennavaire at any time of the year and in almost any weather condition and you will always find exactly your routes / your rock. Sounds like a climbing paradise!
The information on the climbing guide presented at the beginning in two languages and the pictograms used make it easy to get all the essential information on climbing.
GPS data of the parking areas and walls are guaranteed to guide the climber to his destination. The topos are placed on graphics of the rocks and are very easy to read. Below or next to the topos, the most useful information is listed in tabular form: Name of the route, difficulty and altitude of the path. Star rating, equipment + date of drilling of the route.
In addition to the many single pitches in the valley, there are routes on the Rocca Rossa of up to 130 climbing metres for friends of multi-pitch tours. Other crags also offer the one or other longer tour, but not in this number.
2000 routes / 15 new spots / incl. Triolgia del Garda / Arve / Sagarmatha
