The climbing guide Rosso Serpentino - Arrampicare nella Valle di Ala di Lanzo presents 62 multi-pitch routes and 170 single-pitch routes in the Ala Valley. This valley is one of three Lanzo valleys and is located about 60 km northwest of Turin. The valley itself is about 30 km long and stretches from Ceres to the Uja di Bessanese and Uja di Ciamarella massifs, which form the border with France. The “Rosso Serpentino” were created by oxidation and are one of the training grounds for Italian mountaineers. A place where you definitely want to climb.
The climbing guide lists all routes with topo, brief characteristics, approach maps, and detailed information on the individual pitches of the multi-pitch tours. The difficulties rarely exceed a French grade 6. Often there are routes below this grade.
