The Valle Camonica, also known as Valcamonica, extends from Lago d'Iseo deep into the Alps to the Parco dell' Adamello. The valley offers countless sights and year-round opportunities for a wide variety of activities. However, Valcamonica has not been synonymous with climbing like nearby Presolana, Dolomiti di Brenta or Val di Mello. This could change with this climbing guide. In addition to the high density of areas, or in other words, the high number of routes, the Valcamonica Valley also offers a high degree of variety. The lower Valcamonica is full of beautiful limestone crags (Madonna della Rota, Castro, Cividate, Paline, to name a few). Well-equipped short sport climbing routes dominate. Further north in the Adamello area there are climbing areas as well as some bouldering spots in granite and sandstone. The guide itself is very clearly laid out and bilingual throughout. All areas are comprehensively described in an introductory way. The individual sectors of the climbing areas are shown in good sketches, in addition GPS coordinates are given for the corresponding parking facilities. All walls are described in great detail via pictograms. There is information on orientation, access time, height/pitch, climbing style, child-friendliness, susceptibility of the wall to rain, as well as a list of the included routes by number and grade. The topos are superimposed over color photos and are easy to read throughout.448 pagesLanguage Italian / EnglishEdition 2020Graffiti ClimbersIdea Montagn
Behind Bergamo, the Brembana Valley, the Seriana Valley and the distant Scalve Valley deeply affect the pre-Alpine reliefs that rise from the plain until they end against the Orobie chain. Mountains and valleys gathered in the wide embrace formed by the Larian lake and the deep furrows of Valtellina and Valle Camonica.Among these valleys there is a varied environmental heritage of unexpected beauty, among which stand out peaks and walls on whose rocks interesting pages of mountaineering history have been written. The undisputed queen of the entire chain is the Presolana, not a simple mountain, but an articulated and complex massif, a long bastion that rises between the Seriana Valley and the Scalve Valley, whose profile, marked by the succession of its five peaks , is easily recognizable from every perspective you look at it. We dedicate a true monograph to its lunar limestone walls, its over 250 routes and its rich mountaineering history, in which you will find not only the technical reports, accompanied by clear and precise routes and drawings, but also the stories of the first climbers and repeaters as well as the reproduction of precious historical archive materials, all enriched by numerous photographs to complete the story of the Queen of the Orobie. The book is published only in Italian.672 pageslanguage italianedition 2024M Panseri, M.
