As in many countries around the world, climbing has boomed in Cyprus in recent years. New climbing areas have popped up all over the island. Five main climbing areas have developed in Cyprus: Paphos and Troodos in southern Cyprus, and Famagusta, West Pentadaktylos and Central Pentadaktylos in northern Cyprus. In total, there are currently more than 650 climbing routes on the island, spread across 25 sectors, located in unspoilt mountain regions and rugged coastal cliffs. The difficulty of the routes ranges from 5a to 8c.
Climbing is possible all year round in Cyprus – even in summer there are areas where climbing is possible due to their location and orientation. However, the main climbing season is in the winter months, between November and April, when temperatures are perfect for intensive rock contact.

The topos are very easy to read with colour photos. All routes are briefly described, and the number of quickdraws required and the height are also indicated. Further information, such as orientation, climbing style anapproach time, is presented in pictograms. In addition, there is a table for each climbing area with the number of routes sorted by difficulty.
