climbing guidebook extrem Jura
The Jura has been the scene of several important ascents in climbing history. For example, in 1986, when Antoine Le Menestrel opened "Ravage" (8b+/c) on the Chuenisberg near Basel, the most difficult route in the world at the time. Seven years later, Fred Nicole followed suit with "Bain de sang" (9a) in St-Loup. After the initial euphoria, it became quieter around the walls of the Jura. The scene of top climbers shifted. What remained were the beautiful rocks and fabulous forests. In addition to some extreme classics, the guide offers especially for "normal" climbers a variety of well secured routes from 6a to 8a in perfect Jura limestone.
