The Queyras is a landscape and regional nature park in the Hautes-Alpes department, which lies to the west of the main Alpine ridge on the Italian border. The Queyras is surrounded to the north, south and west by mountain ranges that reach altitudes of between 3000 and 4000 metres. Thanks to this sheltered location, the Queyras forms a pronounced inner-Alpine ‘dry area’.
