For a long time there were no current topos for the Basque Country in book form. Thus, this climbing guide is a welcome guest! As the title of the book already announces, only sport climbing areas of the Basque Country are presented. The areas presented are located inland on an imaginary axis between Bilbao, Vitoria Gasteiz and Pamplona. In the front part of the book there is a map on which the areas are marked. Next to it they are listed with their geographic codes and of course with the page number for the book. It goes directly to the topo without much ado. Only the access to the area is still explained. Then come brilliant color photo topos alternating with great landscape and climbing impressions. A few pictograms indicate the difficulties, the location, the access length and the climbing length. One thing has to be said in fairness, to feel comfortable climbing there, you should definitely be able to climb in the high sixth and seventh degrees of the French scale. There are, of course, easier routes, but these are rarer to find. And for the friends of gravity climbing, it should be said, you can also find in the 8th and 9th French degrees.
The following 17 crags are featured in the book: Apellaniz, Araotz, Atauri, Atxarte, Baltzola, Etxauri, Galdames, Itoitz, Larraona, Lezaia, Mugarra, Penartea, Putreen Behatokia, Salvatierra de Esca, San Fausto, Sarabe, Valdegovia.
