Volume 2 of the Escalade en Savoie describes 5 areas around the towns of Chambéry and Albertville - Chambéry, Chartreuse, Bauges, Combe De Savoie and Lauzière. The areas / sectors described in the guide - 46 in total - are listed in a table at the beginning of the book. This summary provides an overview of the key information such as the number of routes by grade, orientation, altitude and ascent time. And then it starts. Each individual climbing area is introduced in more detail with the help of site plans and pictograms - information on route lengths, protection situation, required equipment, child-friendliness as well as GPS coordinates of the crags and parking facilities. The topos are mostly clearly marked on color photographs. In this respect, this climbing guide is a useful companion for a few relaxed climbing days in the Savoie, even without any knowledge of French.
