This kilo heavy book describes 109 climbing areas with about 6500 climbing routes on the beautiful Côte d'Azur and in the equally beautiful Maritime Alps.
A highlight of the region from a climbing point of view are of course the walls of La Turbie. Located directly above Monaco, more than 450 routes await you here - sea view mostly included.
For those who like it quieter, the wonderful Maritime Alps in the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur offer a true paradise. Here you will find a variety of smaller climbing spots that are as beautiful as they are tranquil and just big enough for a relaxing day of climbing.
The V 4.0 is not for nothing over 630 pages strong. It offers the maximum amount of information for all 109 included areas. The information therefore sometimes seems rather crowded, yet the guide always remains clear.
Each climbing area is introduced by a color photo. This is followed by directions and access sketches as well as general information on the character of the climbing, orientation of the area, sea level, rock, route lengths, total number of routes as well as the range of difficulties. Furthermore, there is a star rating as well as GPS data for each area.
For the individual sectors there is then more detailed info in diagram or pictogram form - number of routes in the individual grades, orientation of the individual walls, protection (distances + quality of the material), access time, recommendation for the best season, wall inclination, predominant climbing style, rain shadow, child friendliness, possible vegetation in the route, helmet recommendation, cut-down routes, ...
The topos are laid over hand-drawn sketches.
Described are almost exclusively sport climbing routes, mainly single pitches. However, there are also some alpine routes, which reach heights of more than 300m.
In addition to all the information, the guide is illustrated with a large number of color photos.

Who buys this book will not need another topo in the next few years ...
