Clécy in the north of France (Département Calvados), in Normandy, has a small manageable climbing area near the river Orne.
The current climbing guide now describes 16 "sectors" with a total of 140 routes. Almost all of the sectors are located on only one long wall and sometimes gather no more than 5 routes. Clécy can be described with a clear conscience as an ideal climbing terrain for children, beginners and connoisseurs. Alone 20 well secured routes in the 3rd and 33 routes in the 4th french degree. Grad invite you to take your first steps on the rock. These routes are complemented by 36 routes in the 5th degree, 44 routes in the 6th degree and 7 routes in the 7th degree.
On the first pages of the guide you get a good overview of the individual sectors and their location (incl. QR code + details of the GPS coordinates) as well as a list of all routes, sorted by difficulty and with indication of the sector. In addition to the outlined topos, all climbing routes are briefly characterized and described.
The guide is written in french. The guide is written in French, but thankfully the descriptions of the routes have been translated into English.
If you ever stay in Clécy, go to the Norman Rock.
