It took many years until the new edition of the Brittany Climbing Guide. It was worth it, because the work has changed not only in content but also visually. The significant increase in routes as well as areas is reflected in this topo. The climbing guide is significantly "thicker" and heavier, but also modern in layout. You no longer have to do without photo topos. Very good site plans (as a map and in the sector as a photo), large color photo topos, useful pictograms, strip charts for difficulty route overview, GPS data of the individual areas, a brief outline of the history, flora and fauna, access and equipment is also not missing. The color coding of the areas makes it easier to find them in the book. Also successful are the many action photos.
The described 12 areas of Haute Bretagne, 9 of which are in the (wider) surroundings of Rennes as well as one area close to the sea:
La chambre aux Loups
Île aux pies
Saut Roland Secteur blocs
Vieux-Vy sur Couesnon
Rochers du Blaireau
The Rochers du Blaireau area is a pure bouldering area. It offers almost 200 problems in difficulty levels 2 to 8. In the book there is a description of the sectors and their location, as well as 3 large overview maps showing the location of the individual blocks in each sector. The topos are then available for free via a website, which can be kept / used offline or online.
